TSC under 12 swimmers raced their rivals from Ledbury, Hereford, Cinderford and Gloucester at the Four Seasons Gala, held at Monmouth's pool, on Saturday 25th April. There were a number of young swimmers making their first competitive starts for the club and all performed wonderfully on an exciting evening. Ben Ward, James Riach, Thomas Singer and Grace Goodenough will remember the event as they posted their first recorded times in their individual events. Others swam with drive and great technique to be rewarded with a succession of PBs: well done to Niamh Brady, Lewis Hill, Izzy Quinn, Harry Quiney, Ashleigh Holton, Dylan Coxshall, Grace Nolan, Amaya Herold, Harriet Bethel, Molly Wilson, Dylan Hill and Keely Burton. A highlight of the evening was a new record time, posted by Eve Heeley in the under 11 girls 50m freestyle. The relay teams performed with discipline and great spirit, with the only DQ being the event's climax – the canon. But overall the swimmers can be very proud of an excellent third place, just behind Hereford, with Gloucester the overall winners. Many thanks to the volunteers who helped run the team – the coaches and chaperones, as well as the officials and highly supportive parents for cheering on the swimmers.
